The Braun-Blanquet method
This method is a visual assessment technique developed in the early 20th century by plant sociologist Braun-Blanquet. It is a rapid and highly repeatable approach, requiring only a few minutes per sampling site. The method involves visually estimating the abundance of different herbaceous species within a sampling area, focusing on their percentage coverage rather than individual species frequency. Effective application of this technique requires expertise in identifying weeds at all phenological stages, from seedlings to mature plants. A vegetation survey conducted using the BraunBlanquet method is referred to as a "phytosociological survey."
