THE ROLE OF HOWARD GARDNER'S MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES THEORY IN LANGUAGE TEACHING
This paper explores the application of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory in language teaching, highlighting its ability to address diverse learning needs. MI theory challenges traditional views by emphasizing various cognitive strengths like spatial, musical, and interpersonal intelligences, which affect how students learn. In language education, it advocates for personalized, experiential approaches that enhance engagement and retention. The paper discusses strategies for applying MI, such as differentiated instruction and student-centered assessments, while acknowledging challenges like traditional system limitations. Ultimately, it argues that MI promotes inclusive education and adaptable learning environments for all students.
