Brazil's Amazon and Nuclear Energy: The Strategic Value of Risk Assessment
Expanding access to energy in remote regions is one of Brazil's major contemporary strategic challenges. The growing energy demand, combined with the need for sustainable and low-carbon solutions, reinforces the interest in technological alternatives capable of providing energy in a safe, continuous manner and with minimal environmental impact. In this context, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) — compact, modular nuclear reactors with higher levels of passive safety — are considered a viable alternative for energy supply.
