Analyzing Global AI Search Trends: A Comparative Study of Gemini AI, OpenAI, and DeepSeek AI
This article explores the search trends of artificial intelligence (AI) models using Google Trends data, focusing on three major AI systems: Gemini AI, OpenAI, and DeepSeek AI. The study examines the fluctuations in global search volume from February 2024 to February 2025, identifying the key factors driving their popularity. Gemini AI emerges as the dominant entity, likely benefiting from Google’s extensive ecosystem integration and widespread accessibility across various digital services. OpenAI, despite maintaining a stable user base, faces increasing competition due to the rapid advancements in AI technology and market expansion. Meanwhile, DeepSeek AI exhibits erratic search patterns, with intermittent spikes in interest that appear to be driven by media coverage or niche technological developments rather than sustained public engagement. Beyond identifying search trends, this study contextualizes its findings within technology adoption theories, particularly the Technology Diffusion Model (TDM) and corporate AI governance frameworks. The results indicate that AI models embedded within broader digital ecosystems gain a significant competitive advantage in public visibility over standalone AI applications. The study concludes that analyzing AI search trends offers valuable insights into industry competition, technological adoption, and future AI development trajectories. Furthermore, the implications extend to business, education, and the broader tech landscape, underscoring the necessity for AI developers to continuously innovate and strategically position their models within the global AI ecosystem to maintain relevance and competitiveness.
