Analysis of the impact of one-on-one meetings on employee retention and motivation in distributed teams
This article explores the impact of regular one-on-one (1:1) meetings on employee retention and motivation in remote work environments. A comprehensive methodological approach was employed, integrating statistical analysis (correlation and regression) with qualitative methods (in-depth interviews, focus groups). The findings indicate that both the frequency and the substantive depth of 1:1 meetings significantly influence job satisfaction, employee engagement, and turnover reduction. At the same time, the effectiveness of this tool largely depends on a conscious approach to conducting the meetings: merely following a schedule or using standard checklists proves far less effective than holding a “development dialogue,” which accounts for employees’ career and personal goals. This study may be of practical value to managers, HR professionals, and organizational behavior researchers seeking to improve distributed team performance and enhance employee retention.
