Cultural Beliefs and Traditions: Their Influence on Environmental Ethics and Sustainability on Gen Z's.
Abstract The common ideals, traditions, and practices that have been passed down through the centuries that influence social norms and behaviour are known as cultural beliefs and traditions. They have an impact on how communities use their resources and surroundings. The relationship between people and the natural world is environmental ethics, and it places a strong emphasis on our duty to preserve it. The goal of sustainability is to satisfy current demands without endangering the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate cultural beliefs and traditions and their influence on environmental ethics and sustainability. The technique used in this study is Text mining using the qualitative tool NVIVO 12. The findings of the study indicated that Major cultural beliefs and traditions and their influence on environmental ethics and sustainability are Guiding Sustainable Resource Use, Promoting Conservation Practice, Religious Teachings, and Biodiversity Preservation. Moderate cultural beliefs and traditions influence environmental ethics and sustainability by enhancing biodiversity protection, preventing deforestation, implementing sustainable fishing practices, and promoting agricultural traditions. Minor cultural beliefs and traditions and their influence on environmental ethics and sustainability are Restricting Overexploitation, Promoting Water Conservation, Fostering Emotional Connection to Nature, and Inspiring Environmental Stewardship
