Rheotanytarsus acerbus

Rheotanytarsus acerbus (Johannsen, 1932) Tanytarsus (Rheotanytarsus) acerbus Johannsen, 1932: 547. Rheotanytarsus acerbus (Johannsen): Wang & Zheng, 1993: 91; Chaudhuri et al., 1994: 151; Kyerematen et al., 2000: 236. Material examined. 4♂ (SHOU: SHOU1 - SHOU4), China, Taiwan, Taipei, Kuandu, Wetland. 20.X.1988, leg. C.J.W. Maa; 2♂ (SHOU: SHOU5, SHOU6), China, Guangdong, Fengkai, Heishiding Natural Conservation, IV.19.1988, light trap, leg. X.H. Wang. Diagnosis. This species can be separated from other members of acerbus group by the following combination: superior volsella with a rounded apical extension, digitus well developed, median volsella reaching apex of superior volsella but not inferior volsella, gonostylus abruptly tapered and curved apically (Wang & Zheng, 1993; Wang & Guo, 2004).
