Deliverable 3.2: Report on the use of an interactive European map and inventory of AF products and service
This report describes the progress towards the aim of developing a web-based European map of agroforestry, including suppliers and consultants. This aim was achieved bearing in mind the following three points: Although there are existing mapping activities of agroforestry at a European level, such as the maps on the AGFORWARD and European Agroforestry Federation (EURAF) websites, these have not been recently updated. The national bodies represented in EURAF often organise and host national maps of agroforestry. These national maps support stakeholder involvement and visibility, and it was felt important to maintain this national interest. However, there is currently no established means of collating those data to create a European map of agroforestry. Hence, an approach was sought which brought together national stakeholders from several European countries to develop a common framework. The result of the process has been to create a new European map, which is already embedded on the DigitAF website (https://digitaf.eu/agroforestry-map/). In December 2024, advanced discussions were held with the EURAF secretariat to host the map on the newly designed website of the European Agroforestry Federation (EURAF): www.euraf.net. For a common visualisation, the default language would need to be in English.
