DISTENDER_D10.1_Technical KPIs definition framework

This report defines a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework for the EU Horizon project DISTENDER and outlines the general monitoring approach for the project. The monitoring approach is designed and implemented by Work Package 10 – Project Monitoring. The purpose of the Work Package is to support the members of the project consortium, consisting mainly of researchers, case study representatives, and external stakeholders from the case studies, in becoming clear about, assessing, and optimizing the long-term impacts of their work. The impact monitoring is deliberately begun at an early stage of the project. This enables the monitoring team to establish baselines early in the project and follow its progress con-tinuously. The present deliverable D10.1 draws up a framework within which all future WP10 deliverables (D10.2; D10.3; D10.4) are going to measure, assess, quantify, and interpret the progress of DISTENDER. The framework is based on a DISTENDER theory of change and defines both outcomes and impacts for the project. At this stage, the indicator framework is deliberately kept open to allow for further adjustment during the project duration, should individual indicators turn out to be less suited than others for reliable impact monitoring.
