Senior High School Curriculum Implementation: Challenges and Experiences of Teachers
Abstract This study evaluated the experiences and challenges of educators teaching Senior High School (SHS) in selected private and public Basic Education schools. The study was conducted using a descriptive survey method, and respondents were chosen using stratified sampling. The data gathered were analyzed using weighted mean to assess teachers' perception of the implementation of the SHS Program. The result of the study reveals that the implementation of the Senior High School program has posed minimal challenges to the respondents. However, aspects related to inexperience, curriculum awareness, training adequacy, and student engagement continue to limit teachers’ grasp of the Senior High School curriculum. Furthermore, the school administration should focus on providing targeted professional development, enhancing curriculum training, and implementing strategies to boost teachers’ performance. Keywords: teacher readiness, student engagement, curriculum awareness, professional development
