DOES MEDICAL TOURISM CONTRIBUTE TO GROWTH IN THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR?

This study examines the impact of medical tourism revenues on healthcare sector growth across 49 emerging and developed countries from 2009 to 2023. By applying panel GMM and PMG/ARDL estimation techniques, findings indicate that increased medical tourism revenue significantly enhances growth in the healthcare sector. This relationship holds consistently across varying time periods, alternative healthcare performance indicators, and model variations.
