Preference Analysis on Selecting a Shipping Company among Indian Seafarers: A Conjoint Analysis Approach

Abstract: Seafarer’s career was always found to be full off challenges and issues owning to many factors. This study attempts to explore various preferences of Indian seafarers while selecting a shipping company. The research deploys Conjoint analysis based on various combinations of options available. The analysis also uses average important score based on preferences given by the respondents. Salary payment based on currency, Preference related on-board fellow and career progression emerge as major preferential utilities.
