Solothrips Li, Ye, Lin, Cheng, Wang & Tan, 2025, gen. nov.

Solothrips gen. nov. Type species. Solothrips brevisetis sp. nov. Diagnosis. Small macroptera. Head wider than long, mouth-cone short and pointed with 3-segmented maxillary palpi. Compound eyes with 4 pigmented facets ventrally. Ocellar setae I and II absent, setae III short; 5 pairs of postocular setae present. Antennae 8-segmented, segment I without dorso-apical setae, III and IV with forked sense cone. Pronotum wider than long without long posteromarginal or posteroangular setae. Prosternal ferna undivided, probasisternum without setae. Meso- and metanota sculptured with reticles, campaniform sensillum (CPS) present. Mesosternal furca with spinula, metasternal furca absent. Fore wing first vein setae discontinuous, second vein setae scattered, apex with 1 terminal seta; posteromarginal cilia wavy; clavus with 5 veinal setae and 1 discal seta. Tarsi 2-segmented. Abdominal tergites median pair of setae (S1) small, arising in anterior part of tergites; paired campaniform sensilla situated behind setae S1 and S2, close to posterior margin; tergites without ctenidia; tergite VIII with a patch of microtrichia anterior to the spiracle, complete posteromarginal comb present; tergite IX with two pairs of CPS. Sternite II with 2 pairs of posteromarginal setae, III–VII with 3 pairs of posteromarginal setae. Etymology: In reference to the single pair of ocellar setae.
