USING VISUAL ASSESSMENTS TO MEASURE VOCABULARY SKILLS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Assessing lexical competence in primary school learners is vital for language development, yet traditional methods such as written or oral tests may not capture the full scope of a child’s vocabulary skills. This paper explores the potential benefits, strategies for implementation, and challenges associated with using picture-based assessments to evaluate vocabulary knowledge in young learners. The findings suggest that such assessments can support language development and offer valuable insights into children's lexical competence.
