Design of advanced PLC, through a PCB made in Altium Designer

Introduction: Knowledge in the design of electronic devices is essential for professionals in the electronics area. Objective: The study aims to describe the design process of a programmable control board using Altium Designer software. Methodology: A descriptive level non-experimental design is carried out. The process involves the design of the schematic circuit using interconnected blocks, followed by the design on a double-sided copper board. The circuit includes: power supply, inputs and outputs, controller block and Ethernet communications. Results: The use of Altium Designer greatly facilitated the design of printed circuit boards, through the construction of interconnected blocks, with high efficiency, which allows in the future to reuse the implemented blocks for future projects. The location of components and tracks created are unique, being almost impossible to replicate with other existing software in the market. Conclusion: The high demand for Altium Designer in the industry and the customization possibilities demonstrate its relevance. The implementation of artificial intelligence and the need for intuitive learning methods are areas for improvement for novice designers. Ultimately, the study contributes to the efficient understanding of current electronic design technologies for support in process automation systems. General area of study: Electronic. Specific area of study: Printed Circuit Design.
