ANALYZING THE NEXUS OF DEMOGRAPHIC DIVIDEND, ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND ENVIRONMENT FOR THE NEW BRICS+: EMPIRICS USING PANEL DATA ANALYSIS

The population of BRICS+ has increased by around 45% since 1990 compared to any other regional cartelglobally. Being the fastest growing economies, rich in resources, have a greater demographic dividend which isunlikely to saturate before the end of this century, BRICS+ is witnessing a higher ecological footprint. Thegovernment interventions in BRICS+ for the Sustainable Development Goals in their environmental policyframework make it vital to analyze the links between demographic dividend and ecological footprint. Therefore, this study utilizes a panel-data framework for BRICS+ from 1990-2020 to identify and analyze the channelsthrough which the link between demographic dividend and environmental sustainability is established. Thesechannels include economic growth, population growth, urbanization, globalization, development in informationand communication technology, foreign direct investment inflows, renewable energy consumption which helpBRICS+ to increase global influence and achieve Sustainable Development Goals in time.
