HYPERSOMNIA
Hypersomnia is a condition characterized by excessive sleepiness during the day or prolonged nighttime sleep that does not provide adequate rest. The article presents the main aspects of hypersomnia, including its classification, causes, and impact on quality of life. Risk factors such as stress, genetic predisposition, and concomitant medical conditions are considered. Diagnostic methods, including polysomnography and sleepiness assessment scales, are described. Modern approaches to treatment, including pharmacotherapy and non-drug methods, are also considered. An important aspect is the need to differentiate hypersomnia from other sleep disorders.
