«Il tempo della mia scrittura è sempre il presente». Il lavoro come esperienza temporale nell'opera di Vitaliano Trevisan
The article is organized into three paragraphs. The first explores the theoretical position explicitly claimed by the narrator-protagonist of Works regarding the experiential significance of work, situating it within a philosophical tradition that starts with the French moralists, and comparing it to Robinson’s attitude on the island. The second paragraph analyzes the sections of Works where work is discussed in terms of a temporal experience that fosters a strengthening communion with the present. The final paragraph, drawing on some of the ideas theorized by Eugène Minkowski in Lived Time, attempts to resolve the apparent contradiction between the theoretical position of the narrator-protagonist of Works and the practices described in the novel.
