An Appraisal on Horticulture Activities in Maharashtra State
Production of fruits and vegetables has become increasingly important. The state produces around 90% of its horticultural output from fruits. The availability of trustworthy data regarding these crops' area and production at different levels is one of the fundamental needs for careful planning aimed at boosting national production. Currently, only eleven states are receiving estimates of the acreage and production of essential fruits and vegetables program. An alternate methodology for estimating the acreage and productivity of various horticulture crops was developed. The estimations of the area, and production of significant fruits have been included in this research.
