The Role of Explainable AI (XAI) in Transforming Healthcare Decision-Making

Healthcare is one of the most important areas now concerned with artificial intelligence (AI), whereas many AI systems are widely known as “black boxes” due to their lack of transparency. There is, however, a new phenomenon that is about to take the medical world by storm. There are many names for it out there, but the most commonly used acronym is Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). It means doctors receive not only an AI-based diagnosis but also an explanation for such conclusions—this is a brief explanation of what XAI is.
