Historia i działalność Sekcji Hemipterologicznej Polskiego Towarzystwa Entomologicznego

The Hemipterological Section of the Polish Entomological Society (PTE) originated from the Aphidological Section, established in 1963 under the Committee for Plant Protection of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). In 2005, due to growing interest in research on all groups of Hemiptera, it was transformed into the Hemipterological Section of the PTE. Its main objectives are to conduct research on the diversity, ecology, and evolution of Hemiptera, as well as to integrate scientists and promote knowledge about these insects. The Section organizes Hemipterological Conferences every two years and publishes works on Hemiptera. The research conducted by its members is of both scientific and practical significance, given the ecological role of Hemiptera and their economic importance. The Section currently has about 30 supporters and 7 active members, primarily from academic institutions in Poland.
