Investigating the Feasibility of Space-Based Solar Harvesting for Desert Agriculture
Space-based solar harvesting offers a promising solution to the energy and water challenges faced by desert agriculture. This study evaluates the feasibility of using orbital solar collectors to transmit energy wirelessly to power irrigation and desalination systems in arid regions. Through computational modeling and cost-benefit analysis, we demonstrate the potential for space-based solar energy to significantly reduce water scarcity and improve agricultural yields. However, technological, economic, and environmental barriers must be addressed for large-scale implementation.
