Abstract This study explores the impact of ChatGPT as a tool for enhancing motivation in learning foreign languages among eighth-grade students at School №159 named after Y. Altynsarin. Conducted as a small-scale research project, the investigation involves 18 students divided into two groups: one utilizing ChatGPT and the other engaging in traditional learning methods. Through a mixed-methods approach, the study examines the effects of ChatGPT on students' motivation and confidence in their language skills. Drawing on insights from various educational researchers, the research discusses both the advantages and challenges of integrating AI technology into the classroom, emphasizing the importance of teacher preparation and thoughtful implementation of new tools. The findings suggest that ChatGPT has the potential to transform language education, promoting a more engaging and responsive learning environment.
