Post-occupancy evaluation of existing multi-storey wood buildings
The objective of the post-occupancy evaluation was to collect data on the technical performance and user experiences of existing multi-storey wood buildings to optimise Build-in-Wood solutions and give input for dissemination of existing multi-storey wooden buildings.Case studies of existing wood buildings are investigated to document technical performance as well as user experiences of the building occupants. The scope of each individual case study varies based on the access to each building and resources available. In total, five case studies were conducted, with buildings located in Denmark and Norway. The five case study buildings included in this report are:• Lisbjerg Bakke in Aarhus, Denmark• Maskinparken 2 & Maskinparken TRE in Trondheim, Norway• Moholt 50|50 in Trondheim, Norway• Skademosen in Roskilde, Denmark• Nordre Gate in Oslo, Norway For the assessment of technical performance, the outset was to have a specific focus on:• Energy consumption (heating, electricity, etc.),• Acoustic performance (airborne and impact sound),• Indoor climate (temperature, relative humidity), and• Volatile compounds in the indoor environment (EU-LCI/AgBB-LCI VOCs, formaldehyde). The collected user perceptions of each case study building have been evaluated based on the following areas:•Acoustic performance•Indoor climate•Fire safety•Sustainability•Aesthetic and sensory experiences•The building as a whole
