Functions of Namakkal Kampan Kazhagam

Abstract Literary organizations bring the best of the literature summarized by scholars to all walks of life. Discourses, festivals, competitions and awards are used to make the people aware of the eloquence, merit, and concentration of literature. Literary programs are conducted to make the next generation interested in literature. It encourages the work of Tamil activists, social activists, farmers, doctors and teachers in various fields. Research books on Kambaramayanam and Kamban are published. Literature is a time mirror that reveals the living conditions of people. Literary systems work based on these literary messages. Literature and grammar are the two eyes of a language. Grammar and literature are meant to explain the history, techniques and features of the language. In Tolkappiyam, an ancient book of Tamil, the author mentions in many places, “Enmanar poet, yaparri poet, ena lingupa, enpa, lingumanar poet, nula navil poet”. We know that many literatures appeared before Tolkappiyam and this book was based on them.
