MODERN MODELS OF WIND SOIL EROSION USED AROUND THE WORLD
Abstract Wind erosion is a threat to numerous landscapes around the world, which can be amplified or suppressed by direct and indirect impacts. In recent years, great efforts have been made to determine the extent of wind erosion of soil in various environmental conditions around the world. With the advent of wind erosion models, a better understanding of the dynamics and basic mechanisms of wind erosion provides a basis for assessing not only soil erosion, but also various environmental management methods to combat wind erosion of soils. There are various models of wind erosion of varying degrees of complexity and specific capabilities, as well as a range of spatial and temporal scales of application. Due to their uncertainties and limitations, their applicability to various regions and research issues is still being debated. This article examines several widely used wind erosion models to compare the basic concepts of wind erosion dynamics and provides some recommendations regarding the applicability of the models, expected reliability and future directions of modeling research.
