ProScaleE - an easy-to-use scoring approach for ecotoxicity potential assessment
This poster presents ProScaleE, a hazard classification based scoring approach for ecotoxicity potential assessment. Introduction The ProScale method originally covered the direct exposure related human toxicity potential ( ProScaleH ). During recent years work has been carried out to develop a method that facilitates the ecotoxicity potential assessment in a similarly practical way, i.e. as far as possible 1) aligned with REACH, 2) straightforward to use, 3) easy to understand, 4) requiring little to moderate substance data and 5) still providing meaningful and robust results. This is version 1.0. Summary and Conclusions • Building on the experience with ProScale for human toxicity, an analogous approach for ecotoxicological assessments for LCA could be provided with the ProScaleE project and the corresponding methodology.• Practical examples of products, combined with the corresponding classifications, have shown that ProScaleE is applicable to a wide range of products and can be used in LCA studies.• In the context of PEF and SSbD , this development can be helpful, lead to very usable results and should therefore be taken into account accordingly when defining methods.
