TREATMENT OF FRACTURES OF THE DISTAL EPIMETAPHYSIS OF THE HUMERUS IN CHILDREN

Fractures of the distal epimetaphysis of the humerus in children, both in their frequency and in the diversity of injuries, represent an unsolved problem of pediatric traumatology. A large number of different methods for treating this type of injury have been proposed, and they are still being improved. The authors present a developed method for treating patients with fractures of the condyles of the humerus. A total of 12 patients aged 8 to 15 years were operated on using the developed and tested method. The use of the proposed method increases the reliability and stability of fixation of bone fragments, prevents elbow joint contracture, and significantly reduces the time required for rehabilitation. Preservation of joint movements during the period of consolidation of fragments allows achieving a positive functional result of treatment.
