Workers in the unorganised sector face numerous challenges and difficulties
Abstract: It is evident that workers in the unorganised sector are living below the minimum standard of living. Many informal workers struggle to meet their daily needs. Women workers, in particular, are consistently paid lower wages compared to their male counterparts. Although several laws exist to protect the labour force, these are regularly enforced in the organised sector but are often neglected in the unorganised sector. In this context, the author aims to highlight the various challenges faced by unorganised labourers and propose necessary solutions. Data for this study were gathered from secondary sources such as books, research papers, websites, and various government reports. Additionally, valuable insights were obtained through discussions with experienced government officials who have worked in this field.
