Impact of Glass Powder, Egg Shell Powder, and Metakaolin on the Performance of Concrete- A Perspective Review

In the developing countries, need of Portland cement is thriving significantly. Many researches going on, in studying the favor of different sustainable materials to replace cement and sand to reduce adverse impact on environment due to manufacturing of cement and extraction of sand from river beds. The present work evaluates the use of various mineral admixtures that are added to concrete for modifying its physical and chemical properties positively. This review mainly discusses on mineral admixtures like glass powder, eggshell powder and metakaolin. The mechanical properties of concrete hits differently for different mineral admixtures. Various properties concrete like compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength, workability was described.
