Impacts of Early Exposure to Digital Devices on Social-Emotional Development in Children Aged 24 to 60 Months: A Narrative Review
This narrative review examines the growing concern about the impact of early exposure to digital devices on the social-emotional development of children aged 24 to 60 months. The review explores how early digital exposure can affect social skills, empathy and emotional regulation in young children. Studies analyzed indicate that excessive screen time is associated with delays in socio-emotional development and increased symptoms of disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The review concludes that public policies and clear guidelines are essential to mitigate these risks and promote healthy development in digital environments.
