High-frequency air quality measurements at school gates during the morning drop off
Air aqality by school gate has been a subject of many research, especially in recent years. Here in Reading UK the issue of air pollution has been ongoing. High frequency measurement have been undertaken by three schools in East, West and South locations. It has been recorded that the level increas due to the increase traffic during the time of the arrival of the students and during the end of the day. Short-term exposure to air pollution, especially as a repeated occurrence over an extended period can impact lung function, exacerbate preexisting conditions like asthma, increase respiratory and cardiovascular hospital admissions, and even cause death.
