This paper delves into the essence of motherhood, examining the legacy of maternal influence on fostering mother-daughter relationships through memory, as explored in Namita Gokhale's Gods, Graves, and Grandmother and Himanjali Sankar's Mrs. C Remembers. This paper investigates how memory, both collective and individual, shapes maternal bonding and the transfer of emotional, cultural, and psychological legacies across generations. The paper illuminates maternal recollection by conducting a critical comparative literary analysis, which is a crucial factor in shaping intergenerational dynamics.
