PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM IDENTIFIKASI KEBERBAKATAN OLAHRAGA : MENGGALI POTENSI ATLET MUDA DI SEKOLAH DASAR KOTA MAKASSAR
Abstract This program aims to identify the sports talents of students in elementary schools in Makassar City, with a focus on exploring the potential of young athletes from an early age. Identification of sports talent at an early age is very important for the sustainable development of athletes, especially in supporting the systematic and targeted coaching of young athletes. This program aims to identify talented students in various sports and provide a basis for further coaching. The method used in this activity is a combination of physical and psychological tests. Activity procedures include socialization to teachers, parents, and students; implementation of sports aptitude tests in elementary schools; and analysis of results to compile individual student profiles. Data were collected through direct observation, physical measurements, and interviews. The results showed that most students have good potential in several sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming and athletics. The program successfully identifies students with significant physical abilities and interest in certain sports, who can then be directed for further coaching. In addition, this program also increases school and parents' awareness of the importance of sports coaching from an early age. The conclusion of this activity is that the implementation of the sports aptitude identification program in Makassar City primary schools is effective in exploring the potential of young athletes. To ensure optimal development, continuous support from the school, parents, as well as further training and programs for students identified as talented are needed.
