D6.1 - Provisional Data Management Plan

This deliverable is the privisional data management plan, submitted in response to the revision of the EU, summer 2024. The data management plan (DMP) aims to strike a balance between rigorous and comprehensive data management approaches common in industry and enterprises, and the reality of project-based science across disparate, collaborating scientific institutes with their own ways of working. The MarinePlan DMP focuses on maintaining a comprehensive metadata inventory to ensure that project deliverables adhere to open science and FAIR principles, while acknoledging that efforts to describe data storage and processing while dliverables take shape are fruitless. The DMP therefore provides guidelines for obtaining, processing, and temporary archiving data and scripts with assistance of data management specialists while work is in progress, but is strict on deliverable completion and public dissemination.
