Socio-Demographic and Clinical Distribution of Cervical Cancer among women in the southern regions of Morocco: A Retrospective Study

Cervical cancer has been identified as a major public health problem in the southern regions of Morocco, where access to care and screening programs has remained limited. This study was conducted to analyze the socio-demographic and clinical distribution of this pathology and to assess the influence of factors such as age, marital status, place of residence, medical coverage, general condition, functional symptoms and macroscopic appearance of the tumor on the stage of diagnosis. A retrospective analysis of patients' medical records was performed, allowing correlations to be established between these variables and tumor progression. It was highlighted that socio-demographic factors significantly influenced the detection and progression of cervical cancer. A delay in diagnosis was observed in patients from under-medicalized populations, thus compromising their prognosis. These results highlighted the importance of public health initiatives aimed at strengthening early detection and reducing disparities in access to care. The implementation of awareness campaigns and targeted interventions has been recommended in order to improve care and limit the morbidity and mortality associated with this pathology.
