Visual analysis of trends and hotspots in surgical treatment of allergic rhinitis based on bibliometrics

Objective By bibliometrics, we analyzed the development trend of surgical treatment in allergic rhinitis (AR) treatment and explored its hotspots. Methods This paper conducted a systematic search and data download of English articles or reviews on surgical treatment of allergic rhinitis from the Web of Science Core Collection from 1998 to 2024. Using VOSviewer and CiteSpace to analyze countries, institutions, authors, journals and keywords from multiple perspectives. Results A total of 1, 041 articles were retrieved, and the number of publications in the field of AR surgery was generally on the rise over the past 25 years. The United States and European countries published the vast majority of the global papers in the field of AR surgical treatment. In recent years, China’s academic influence has gradually increased, and cooperation and communication between countries, institutions and teams have been strengthened in this field. Professor ZHANG Luo of Capital Medical University is at a leading level in this field in China. “volume reduction” “neuro-desensitization” “pathogenesis” and “instrument research” are the academic focus in this field. ConclusionThe surgical treatment of AR has significantly developed in the past 25 years, and the future exploration direction, hotspot and development trend may revolve around the surgical treatment principles of “Reducing volume” “Reducing sensitivity” and Protecting mucosa.
