Leveraging an Artificial Intelligence Assistant for Economic Activity Analysis within M'diq's Geoportal

This study examines the challenges of urban economic development in the M'diq Collectivity through the implementation of a geoportal enhanced with an AI assistant. The geoportal addresses technological gaps by providing an intuitive interface for interacting with economic data and integrating advanced AI functionalities. The research is supported by primary data collected from surveys, interviews, and municipal economic records. The AI assistant augments GIS capabilities, enabling advanced spatial analysis, thematic mapping, and trend visualization. Findings reveal limited stakeholder accessibility to and analysis of economic data, which hinders effective decision-making. By integrating Geographic Information System (GIS) tools with AI-powered features, the geoportal enhances stakeholder engagement, making economic insights more accessible to non-experts and fostering informed participation in urban planning. This study underscores the potential of AI-integrated geoportals to bridge technological divides, improve user experiences, and promote inclusive economic management, offering valuable insights for advancing urban planning, economic development, and digital governance.
