Naples : continuity and disruption

This publication compiles the results of a study excursion to Naples undertaken by Master’s students in architecture and planning at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg from 2 to 9 October 2023. Framed by the conceptual tension between continuity and disruption, the excursion examined how these dynamics shape the material, social, and symbolic textures of the city. The publication presents paired posters created by each student: one produced prior to the excursion in response to Elena Ferrante’s novel, and one developed afterward, drawing on situated encounters with urban space. These visualisations reflect how perceptions of Naples shifted through embodied experience and critical engagement with the politics of representation.
