Neonatal encephalopathy with suspected hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (NESHIE) and consequential cerebral palsy

Supplementary material to accompany Chapter 3 of the MSc dissertation titled: Identification of allelic variants implicated in neonatal encephalopathy with suspected hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy and consequential cerebral palsy in individuals of African origin. Chapter 3 has been published and is available at: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ygeno.2022.110508. With the following objectives:To support novel imaging and metabolic biomarker discovery in birth asphyxia and the use of this information for planning for future clinical trials of neuroprotective agents. To develop a neuroprotectant drug to be delivered to the mother during protracted labor and/or to the newborn after birth to lessen severity of morbidity-associated birth asphyxia and resulting hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy
