Instructor Guide: Integrating Learning Spaces to enhance teaching approaches, advance student learning and elevate assessments outcomes

Learning Spaces Learning Spaces are zones of interaction where learning can take place. The learning zone consists of resources, students and educators. The interaction between educators and students leads to the creation of spaces where learning is more meaningful. Resources such as articles, simulations, videos, powerpoint slides and textbooks can enhance learning outcomes in learning spaces alongside the interaction with students. Learning Spaces are of two types: major and minor. Major Learning Spaces are zones of interaction between students & students and students and educators. And minor learning spaces invite interaction only between students and educators. In this guide we present examples of activities and topics in a pre-implementation, implementation and post-implementation phase which showcase how teaching, learning and assessment can be integrated in learning spaces. Extended Learning Spaces Educators at all levels usually have a desk area or office where they meet their students outside of class time. Such meetings often prove invaluable for focusing on the unique needs that every student has. In this regard, office space need not be left out as a learning space.
