Evaluation of the Effect of Compost Tea on Tomato Yield

This study aimed to investigate the effect of compost tea as a liquid fertilizer on the performance of Isabella hybrid tomato. In this research, 30 tomato seedlings were planted in two rows in a greenhouse, and each plant was treated with 150 cc of compost tea (EC 1.8). Harvesting of the fruits began in the first week of Farvardin, and the fruit weight of all plants was measured. The data were analyzed through analysis of variance. The results showed that compost tea had a significant effect on increasing tomato yield (p<0.0006). Model validation was conducted by comparing the data from the model with experimental findings.Analysis of the obtained data indicated that the average yield in the experimental replications was 29,475 grams, which falls within the 95% confidence interval of the model, i.e., between 21,790 and 30,380 grams. This suggests that the predicted model was accurate and reliable, and it can be used as an effective tool for estimating tomato yield under compost tea treatment conditions. The findings of this research indicate that compost tea can be used as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers in organic tomato production.
