THE INFLUENCE OF EXTRALINGUISTIC FACTORS ON THE FORMATION OF NEW MEANINGS IN TERMINOLOGICAL SYSTEMS

The article elucidates how extralinguistic factors affect the formation of new meanings within terminological systems. The major attention is rendered to the role of non-linguistic elements, such as social, cultural, technological and scientific advances, in the formation of the evolution of terminological dictionaries. The contribution of the external factors to the development of new meanings in professional and scientific terminology is thoroughly analyzed in the article. It manifests that the development of terminological systems is influenced not only by linguistic mechanisms, but also by external factors that can engender the emergence of ambiguous terms in specialized areas. Examining diverse terminological systems, the study reveals primary extralinguistic influences and provides a foundation for comprehending their interaction with linguistic structures in the formation of novel meanings. The outcomes of the research emphasize the dynamic nature of terminological development and suggest fundamental information about the role external factors play in the adaptation of the language in our modern era. The study ameliorates our comprehension of the relationship between language and extra-linguistic realities and exudes a robust foundation for future studies of terminology and language development.
