he purpose of the study was to identify major factors that are affecting the successful imple-
mentation of projects; for the case manufacturing project financed by DBE at Addis Ababa
and its surrounding areas. The study has used both secondary and primary data sources. To
identify and rank major factors, Questioners were distributed to 104 randomly selected em-
ployee of DBE. Moreover, secondary data was collected from 122 projects that were financed
from 2013 to 2020 was considered for data analysis. The data was processed using the Statis-
tical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24. Descriptive statistics such as standard
deviation and percentages were employed to describe primary data. Relative Importance In-
dex was computed to rank factors. The Secondary data was analyzed using Binary logistic re-
gression. The results of the study showed that kyc assessment practice by the Bank, Project
follow-up, project management experience and project planning are factors that are internal
factors that are positively affecting project implementation success while foreign currency
fluctuations significant external factors that is negatively affecting the successful implementa-
tion of the project. Accordingly, the study suggests that kyc assessment practice, project plan-
ning and project management should be strengthened by the Bank and also project design
change should be minimized after project implementation start.
