Current research status on the impart of anastomotic leakage on postoperative physiological function and quality of life in patients with rectal cancer
[Abstract]Anastomotic leakage is one of the main complications after rectal cancer surgery. Previous studies have shown that this complication not only affects perioperative mortality but also affects patients’ long-term oncological outcomes. Currently, the impact of anastomotic leakage on the long-term quality of life of patients after surgery has not been taken seriously. This article reviews the current research on the impact of anastomotic leakage on postoperative defecation function, urination function, and sexual function of rectal cancer patients to investigate its impact on patients’ long-term quality of life.
