Physical examination of arteriovenous fistula maturation in hemodialysis: a scoping review with AI integration

This project aims to conduct a scoping review to map the available evidence on the use of physical examination techniques to assess the post-operative maturation of arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) in adult patients undergoing haemodialysis. The review will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews and adhere to the PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines. It will include studies focused on inspection, palpation, auscultation, and other non-imaging functional assessments of AVF. This scoping review is part of a larger research initiative on vascular access care and is registered in advance to promote methodological transparency.
