This report is about finding whether there are enough Kendra’s under PM Bhartiya Jnanasiddhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) so that poor and middle-class people able to find generic medicines at affordable price. When Indian government implemented its very first scheme i.e., Jan Aashaadha Scheme with an intention to make the high prices medicines available at the affordable price to their citizens but soon people started to exploit the loopholes of this scheme like lack of awareness, poor supply chain, etc. So the authorities decide to revamp this scheme as government didn’t have enough means to monitor everything related to the scheme. Under PMBJP, number of the Kendra’s has been increased by 100 times and the sales of generic medicines too increase. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) are larger and more centrally managed than Jan Aushadhi Kendra (JAK) which earlier used to locate in the major cities and selling few essential medicines. Whereas PMBJKs expands their outlets to all over India which includes wide ranges of medicines and surgical items.
