The impact of cancer labeling and linguistic framing on perceived risk and treatment decisions in a UK sample
This study examines how linguistic framing influences perceptions and decisions in medical contexts in a UK sample. Using vignettes about a hypothetical blood condition, we test the effects of cancer labeling, genetic attribution, precision medicine language, battle metaphors, and second-person framing on judgments of seriousness and treatment necessity. Findings will inform strategies for improving clinical communication.
