The Role of Cortisol, Sleep, and Perceived Stress in Predicting Autonomic Recovery
Deidentified data and R analysis code for the project titled “The Role of Cortisol, Sleep, and Perceived Stress in Predicting Autonomic Recovery” are available at this repository. This study investigates the physiological and psychological factors that influence autonomic stress recovery in healthy Romanian adults. Using salivary cortisol, heart rate variability (HRV), and self-reported stress indicators, the research examines how cortisol reactivity and recovery, sleep quality, and perceived stress levels relate to autonomic function. The study also explores the moderating role of perceived stress and the influence of emotional trauma and traumatic brain injury on physiological stress responses.
