Decoherence-Resilient Quantum Sensors for Autonomous Inertial Navigation Systems
The motivation for this thesis is to explore how quantum sensors can be integrated into traditional inertial navigation systems to enhance their accuracy and resilience. By leveraging quantum properties like superposition, entanglement, and quantum coherence, it is possible to achieve navigation capabilities that are currently unattainable with classical technologies. This work focuses on addressing one of the significant challenges in quantum sensing: the phenomenon of decoherence, which causes the quantum states in these sensors to degrade over time due to interactions with their environment.
